Well, 2010 looks like being a great year in gAylist/land London and whilst having started in dramatic fashion, the future, nevertheless, looks bright and we hope to be in the thick of all the best action.
And it looks like January, far from being a dull affair, is going to see some mama-mia/Italiano spice to spruce up the month as Milan based club sensation “Pervert” comes to the capital as “Lovechild’s” & “Hustlaball London’s” promoter Alex Erfan collaborates with “Pervert’s” creators, Christian & Ivan, to add some real style, a little bit (possibly a lot) of outrageous activity, a handy amount of opulence and even a smattering of secretive sex & seductiveness (and that’s just the shows!) to Fire in Vauxhall, the host venue for this golden event on Saturday 23rd January.
So, given all the intrigue that this club has raised in Disco Matt land, we have been digging for more details, using our contact in Milan (Mr Verde), where “Pervert” is based, so as to give you a full insight of what to expect of the audacious club brand. Well, plenty of searching & uncovering has revealed some tasty morsels which we know will tempt even the boldest of you to affirm your attendance of this Italian export coming our way. Now, it seems that “Pervert” has been one of the most talked about & notoriously extravert parties in Milan for well over 15 years, transcending both the glamorous gay market as well as the sophisticated straight scene, bringing together like-minded clubbers that are after quality & style, which “Pervert”, it seems, has in bucket loads, or should we say secchiata (sounds much better!). Spreading its glamorous yet seductive image across the homeland, Pervert has slowly become a household name in Italy, each outing combining outrageous stage shows which have more than just a hint of sexual fantasy, yet carrying off a style & opulence that many a similar club brand can only aspire to. The twosome behind “Pervert’s” success is the combo of Christian & Ivan, who always aim to provide, through their club, a complete visual feast incorporating dazzling decor & classy costumes, creating an infusion akin to a theatrical catwalk, so it is no surprise that the events attract the cream of the clubbing fraternity and continue to make headlines, whether it be in Milan or Rome, where it’s transgender origins were considered a little taboo by the glitterati & paparazzi, but now attract welcoming attention.
So, with the “Pervert” profile well & truly covered & we think your appetite wet, what can you expect from the London version, “Pervert Gold”?. Well, Alex Erfan & his team have been working closely with Christian & Ivan over in Milan to deliver a worthy version & package to the capital. Fire’s main room will be undergoing a metamorphic transformation especially for the event, hinting towards the plans for a full refurbishment of the space, which takes place in March, but for “Pervert” will be kitted out in sumptuous decor, which will combine the existing top notch lighting, lasers & visuals with the prolific production & amazing animation that this Italian club brand will no doubt inject. Ivan, together with stage director Tony Bruno, will be flying in from Italy, to implement the plans for the party, along with London based Alex & his team, bringing what looks like being a lavish blend of sexy theatrical performances, stunning bursts of jaw-dropping visual surprises, magnificent music & glamour, to produce a night of wonder rarely experienced in London. So, step aside “Lovechild” & welcome the Italian invasion which looks set to have tongues wagging a plenty.
And what of the music? Well the line up is simply spectacular and has a real Italian flavour as, jetting in will be Obi Baby, one of Milan’s most sought-after D.J’s, who will head up a star studded main room list of jocks, which includes our very own Italian Stallion, Pagano, who has really hit 2010 running, not only playing a scintillating set at the NYD event “As One”, but has, as recently as last weekend, cast his spell of musical mastery on New York, where he played alongside Chus & Ceballos at club night “Alegria Musica”, while back home has celebrated a magnanimous return to “Megawoof” & for us, is back where he belongs, in the thick of London’s best clubs. Add to all that, the fact that Mr Pagano was a “Pervert” Milan resident before moving to London, so we cannot wait for another slice of Francesco fabulousness, with progressive, & sexy house be the signature tunes of his sets. Then there is D.J. Luigi Rosi of “Coco-latte” fame, who is back in London especially for “Pervert”, playing an exclusive set, Luigi being joined by the legend that is Gonzalo Rivas, one of the scene’s most sort after talents who is famed for “Trade” through the years, “Orange”, “Beyond” & far more besides, also having played at a number of “Pervert” parties and no doubt, will deliver a superbly hard hitting tech & pumping set. Then, one of the freshest talents to hit the London scene, Alessandro Londra, who has not only featured in “Matinee” parties in the capital for the last 18 months, but is set to take German giant club “Greenkohm” by storm, returns to Fire following an impeccable set in the Lo-Profile room at “As One”. He fully deserves his space at this “Pervert" party, complementing the main room line-up, no doubt treating us to copious amounts of his very distinctive Latin injected yet progressive house tunes. But there is more, as Fire debutant Gepy, our other Italiano, who has been producing and re-mixing tracks since he was in his teens & is now delivering a more mature sound with hints of minimal and tech, is set to be the surprise of the night we think, then ready to take London by storm. So, the main room D.J. line up will definitely being flying the bandiera d’italia, even Mr Rivas speaking the Italian musical lingo for the night.
But the music isn’t just restricted to the main room, no no no, as Alex & his team will be laying on an extra special VIP lounge to match all the opulence of the main space and the music is going to be a “Pervert” gold tipped ecstatic experience, firstly welcoming back to Fire, London scene favourite Brent Nicholls, who has worked with Alex in previous “Lovechild” guises, but has a myriad of residencies & appearances across the expanse of the gAylist scene in the capital. Brent’s characteristic sexy electro house, infused with funky, chunky Latino inspired tracks, with the odd bit of progressive is going to fit in superbly well & we just hope his set doesn’t clash with Mr Pagano. Then, new(ish) kid on the block & social clubbing D.J extraordinaire. JC Christopher joins the fray, on the back of a sparklingly successful tour down under, where he rubbed shoulders with The Freemasons, Mark Doyle & more and is fast becoming a much in demand young talent that can definitely inject fun into a room with his potent uplifting sets.
So, scintillating shows, prolific production, sex, seduction & magnificent music is the name of the game at this “Pervert Gold” party and there is not much more we can say apart from, miss this and you will definitely miss out!!
